 Church Life

meet the team

The core team are responsible for the running and planning of Brook Street Kids.  They are a mixture of folk with different gifts and abilities, all of them serve in the children’s work on the rota, leading teams.

Tori Gillan brings the expertise from Key Stage 1 to the core team and is equally at home with pre-schoolers and older children. Tori also runs our Tots and Tinies group on a Thursday.  She is a busy wife and mum to four primary-aged children.

Julia Cooke serves on the core team bringing years of experience to the small group Key Stage 1 planning.  Julia leads Years 2 and 3 every other term.  Julia is also another busy lady working as a teacher in a local primary school, being mum to two lads and also running an Engage (Year 7,8,9) community group with her husband.

Ian Barnett serves in Upper Brook alongside Rose every other term.  Ian has experience with primary-aged children through our previous Kidz Klub.  Born and brought up in Winchester, he has a heart for the community.  Ian works for Hampshire County Council,  leads a community group with his wife and has two daughters.

Jenny Hurrell brings to the core team experience from across the age range and she encourages us to think ‘outside the box’.   Jenny is currently leading two teams in Pre-School but she can sometimes be found escorting on the mini- buses or even leading a team on Big Group Week.  Jenny is affectionately known as super sub!  She is also a busy lady, working in a pre-school and being a wife and a mum to two children.

Lavinia Dugdale brings a creative flare and endless energy to the core team. She serves with the Year 4 and 5s every other term with her husband.  Together, they also lead a community group.  Lavinia works for the Winchester Pregnancy Crisis Centre. She is mum to four children ranging from 21 to 10 years old.
